The Allentown Association has been awarded a NY State grant for building renovations from the Buffalo Main Streets Initiative (BMSI) program, funded through the Buffalo Billion’s Better Buffalo Fund.
All property owners within the defined target area may apply for a portion of grant funds to complete building renovation projects. The target area is Allen Street from Main to Wadsworth and Elmwood Avenue from North to Virginia Streets. (See map below.)
Property owners may apply for up to $50,000 in BMSI grant funds, per building, not to exceed 75% of the total renovation project cost. Building renovation funds may be used to renovate facades, storefronts and commercial interiors, with an additional $25,000 per residential unit up to a per building maximum of $150,000, not to exceed 75% of the total project cost.
A public meeting for owners of properties within the target area will be held at 7PM, September 29 in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church at One Symphony Circle, Buffalo. Representatives of the Allentown Association will provide details about the grant program and answer questions from building owners.
Grant applications will be available for owners who wish to apply for funding. For those who cannot attend the public meeting, grant applications can be downloaded from this page beginning Thursday, September 30, 2021.
