This home’s history is similar to 172 College Street The house was first sold to Matilda and Risley Tucker from George W. Francis for the sum of $7,300 in October of 1885. At the time of this home’s purchase, G. W. Francis committed to the Tucker’s that there would not be a building erected within 20 feet of the north (right) side of the house. The deed restriction stated: “It being the intention and meaning of the parties hereto that the 20 feet of land
on the south side of College Street and extending back of that width 50 feet from said College Street and next adjoining the premises on the north shall forever be and remain unencumbered by any building wall or construction of any kind naine or nature whatsoever without the written consent of said party of the second part her heirs or assigns.”

The Tucker’s only lived in this home briefly. By 1888, it was the home of William T. Atwater, who was listed as being a clerk by occupation.
